About Us
The Saltwater Film Society is an active group of volunteer movie-lovers who get together regularly to plan inspiring film events—and digress often into animated discussion (and impromptu reviews) of movies, acting, direction, screenplays, cinematography, special effects, and vintage cartoons. But we also have a more-or-less formal structure, as you can see. We'd welcome your participation!

Mission: To assist the incorporators in developing and implementing an organizational plan for the Saltwater Film Society of Midcoast Maine, including policies governing the Society's relationship to the Rockland Strand Theatre.
Finance Committee
Mission: To provide financial oversight and structure to support the fiscal health of the Saltwater Film Society.
Programming Committee
Mission: To choose a diverse selection of quality film programming for public presentation, while striving for high standards of entertainment, education, and community enrichment.
Membership Committee
Mission: To develop and increase a membership base to devote its support to the ongoing vitality of the Saltwater Film Society.
Fundraising Committee
Mission: To secure funds through sponsorhip, foundation grants, and unique promotions to supplement the Saltwater Film Society of Midcoast Maine programming.
Marketing & Communications Committee
Mission: To create and foster an organizational identity, establish a presence in the community, foster relationships with other segments and interests in the local and wider communities, and market ongoing events and activities of the Saltwater Film Society.
